This is the army plane from the front. These days, the airshow is a bunch of planes parked around with the occasional one taking off. When I was a child, the runway was just yards from our back fence, and sitting on the deck in our backyard we had a front row seat to all the airplanes taking off and doing stunts and parachuters jumping and whatever all they did.

It was really nice. I am glad I had that stuff as a child. There was field all around us and we had all kinds of fun. ;)

very neat, I remember going to air shows when I was growing up. They used to jump out of the planes in the field next to our house. Hope you had a fantastic birthday Stacey!

When I was a kid, the runway of this airport was just yards behind our back fence, and I was a real airplanes flying/doing stunts airshow, not just a bunch of planes sitting on the tarmac. I miss that.

Where I grew up we weren't that far from Detroit Metro Airport and just above our house is about when the planes would start flying really low, if you laid in the grass it would look as if you could reach up and touch them when they went over.
Growing up, "our" airport was a little private one called SkyRanch. I'm not sure who owns it now, but the biggest planes that take off from it are private jets. ;P

The only private planes I knew of aruond there were farmers they used them to spray their fields, the ones that had large ones. The last time I was out that way I ducked because a plane was flying so low, I felt so stupid. Was not used to that anymore.
