Christmas was drawing near, and each day little Betty was getting anxious, but in her mind Santa wouldn't bring her very much, as usual. her mom was a single mother, or a Widow I should say. She had lost her husband to cancer about four years back, and she had a struggle to make ends meet. She was a waitress at a very nice restaurant, but times were hard and people just did tip very much, so Santa was limited to what he could bring to her house..
Betty had a great friend about her age, that lived in a very different world, as far as material thing were concerned, Julie was he name, even there a lot of difference in their life style, Julie was so sweet and thoughtful to every one, but to Betty it was unconditional love that she had for Betty.
Julie had Gotten a new Bike for Christmas last year, and as she was riding by betty's house one day on her beautiful bike Betty was sitting on her front door step, and Julie went in to visit for a few Minutes. As soon as Betty saw her , her eyes lit up like 100 watt light bulb.
She said that is the most beautiful bike that I have ever seen, where did you get it. Julie said that Santa brought it last year. I have always ask Santa for a new Bike but I know he'll never bring me one, Mom said that he couldn't bring some people what they always want.
Julie went away with a sad heart, knowing how sad Betty would be this Christmas. She went home with tears flowing down her face, and her mom saw her and ask her what was the matter, she told her mom how sad Betty was , and she wanted to give her, her Bike for Christmas, Her mom was broken hearted over seeing her daughter being so sad, so she said I promise you now that Santa will bring betty a new Bike for Christmas. Little Julie was so happy. And Betty got her new Bike from Santa ,and all had a very Merry Christmas.
