Challenge: Using prose or poetry, write something (fiction, nonfiction, or essay) about the month of October. If nothing else, write a story or poem and just include the word October in it somewhere.
October Poem for My Daughter
On a blustery spring afternoon
Clouds drifted by outside the window.
This was not a time to think of clouds unless -
On a cloud you come to me.
But no, pain dictates you will not
Enter the world so easily.
Rather, they put me to asleep and when I awoke you were there.
