Sometimes you are asked to do a "small favor" for someone and out of the goodness of your hear you say yah sure why not? You really shouldhave said no frigging way.
I said yes to a friend back in July when she asked me to do some data entry for a little directory she was building --what could it hurt? I didn't anticipate it taking over my life. I tried to tell her needed to attend to my life and she said sure that's fine tell me when you need a break. That should have been an omen that this was not going to go well when the other person in our venture decided to back out after all the glitches we experienced in building the site. The person in charge had a hissy fit and disowned the other as a partner and a friend. I didn't dare back out when the brown stuff hit the fan.
I am still here as I am a bloody chicken.
I was eating and breathing the data base 24/7 for about a week hunting down website info and links when people did not include them as part of the required info to be on our little directory.
I have gotten a slight reprieve as they are busy rebuilding the site for the third time and there isn't much to to but proofread her work.
I am waiting for the other shoe to drop at anytime and I will be at it again. We do stand to make some cash at this venture so that might be motivating me some to stick with it. My friend is a tad bit of a PERFECTIONIST and it's driving myself and our other partner nuts at times. It's not her fault there were glitches in the system and she has vowed to launch the directory this time as nothing can be done to fix the problems. Still it's been a very long road to get here.
Next time I am going to limit my time to the project when asked to help.
