When you commit to another person it is supposed to be for life. Swans mate for life why can't people keep to these promises made? Some where along the line communication might break down or the bloom is so off the rose that either party starts looking at the greener grass else where.
People don't take commitment seriously whether it's to another person or a job. It used to be that people stayed with one career or one company for their entire work life. Not anymore, people get bored and move on sometimes wasting their entire college degree as they can't stand the boss or the coworkers. Some see opportunity somewhere else and off they go.
In all fairness there are sometimes extenuating circumstances like the economy being bad and causes job losses beyond the control of the bosses and someone has to go.
in a relationship often the one left behind has been cheated on or there was abuse and the other person could no longer cope. the are many delinquent parents because the going got tough at home and they no longer wanted to commit to the children or the spouse.
Who suffers? Everyone that's who!

If your marriage looks like it isn't working, don't trash it. Get counseling from a counselor who is committed to keeping marriages together (not all are).
