I don't know too many jerks;
in fact only one that fits that kind
For those that know me well,
you know who I have in mind
He's tall, dark and handsome
and dressed quite immaculately
A cute, sexy smile that hides
what a jerk he can be
He's a very wealthy man
which he uses at his discretion
To buy prostitutes and gifts
to attract cheap women
How else can he keep them
The last one, I hear
He beat her pretty badly
Thank god, when we were married
he never did that to me
The true tragedy for this jerk
Is his kids are starting to realize
that the hero they looked up to
is a man full of lies
He fled the country three weeks ago
and not a word or call to his boys
But he will come back one day
with a truck load of toys
My younger son will laugh
The older will try
He will hide behind smiles
but inside he will cry
He misses the dad he thought
a hero once upon a time
now all his money and good looks
are not hardly worth a dime
But that's what makes him a jerk
His time will come, I'm counting on
For now, all I can say
Is I'm happy this jerk is gone!

Man that felt good!!!!!!
This week's challenge: write about jerks.
C'mon, have a little fun. We all know a jerk or two. Let's compare notes.

You are a sweetheart
You're wiser now, but also more cynical. Remember when we wanted to believe the dream that is held out to us all...that life is good, people are kind, and the Prince and his bride live "happily ever after!" Life slaps that optimism out of us. Good write.
Thank you for posting your work to Gather's Luminous Writers and Artists.
Life does have a way of knocking us into reality. I prefer reality anyways, I'm better suited to it.
Thank you my friend. Trying not to be so much of a stranger. How are things in your neck of the woods?
