Jumped in my car today and was happy it started right up. We've had a cold snap here in Arizona and my car had a little difficulty when it was only 25 out. I don't know if this is a normal thing for cars to not want to start when it's cold or if mine is just having problems now that it finally reached 10 years old and 100,000 miles.
Anyway, I was thinking it would be a good day. Car started right up and on the radio was one of my latest favorite songs (which won't last), We Are Young. Well along the way that changed... =(
Down the road I realized I forgot my lunch. On the good side I have enough junk food at my desk that I didn't have to stop. Which is good because...
I passed a cop on the way to work. On the good side, I wasn't speeding. On the bad side? My headlight was out. So he stopped me. The good side? He gave me a repair order, and not a ticket. I couldn't find my registration, but I had everything else - including my title in the car - so the officer didn't site me for that.
Coworker was ready to be picked up because I texted her while I was pulled over what was going on and to be outside and ready. The bad? Her child's school called her that her son was sick. They tried to call Dad but couldn't get a hold of him. Went to lend her my car, but someone else was leaving for a Dr.'s appointment, so they took her. Son seems to be alright - which I found out when I texted later.
Found out I will not be getting the new-hire bonus for my friend becoming an employee. She applied four days before the program kicked in , so that's when they are taking her interest date from.. not from when she was interviewed or hired. Since the bonus program didn't start until the 1st, I don't qualify. Thankfully I was trying to get her a job before I knew about the bonus thing, so I wasn't too butt-hurt over it, but I am still disappointed. I've been saving for my own place for a while now and it would have been a nice addition to my savings.
Went to the gas station tonight to fill up and while doing so I washed my windshield. This woman in the car across the way called out to me. She was older and sounded all grumpy. "You know, it's people like you who really make life hard for people like me." Quizically I asked, "How's that". I really didn't know what the heck I could have done to offend this woman when I hadn't spoken to her, nor uttered any foul language. I was still in my work shirt and appropriately dressed... But she told me, "It's people like you who wash their windows that make my husband think that while he's gassing up the car I should be out there washing the windows for him." And that's when she chuckled and I knew she was kidding.
Kudos to O'Reilly Auto Parts by the way... Thank you for not only selling me my headlight bulb (as needed from previously in the day) but also coming outside and installing it for me. Totally appreciated since I don't know jack about cars and hate getting ripped off at the garage.

Sounds inviting to move, but I prefer warmer weather... :)
I have a motorcycle, and when it gets cold, I have to use a manual chock to get it started.
THAT can be frustrating.
ASAP, I will get a better one. SOmething that will do more than 50 on the highway.
IM hoping to get a rebel soon,
I get into trouble with the police a lot at THAT speed.
