Hello, Gather ! (UGHHH.....)

Oi. My brain is fried--I'll try to make this short.

Mom and I have been trying to get on the internet and having problems the last few days. Our server or whatever you call it, AT & T, was no help at all after being on the phone with them off and on for several hours. They say that my computer is wireless, when it's not, and while they got my mother's computer working, they did not get mine working. They said it was because my computer has a wireless connection, and the device that connects Mom's and my computers is not their product (yet it CAME in the box with all the other AT & T junk, so....????) and they can't do anything about it.

Mom is super stressed, but is letting me use her computer. We are thinking of changing internet providers, but have no idea which one would be good. AT&T, in our opinion, is no good at all and their service certainly isn't anywhere near stellaar. ;(

Anywhoo, I'll be on sporadically but as much as I can. ;P

What internet provider do you have?

Otherwise, I've walked Bear this morning.

Mom and I were going to go out today to get some things at Staples, but that plan got railroaded by this internet server debacle. ;P

Bible study this afternoon.

Other than that, I guess I'll be writing things and all. ;P

We have Comcast or in some areas it is called Ixfinity. It is not the cheapest, but the internet speeds and the service are very good. I have to admit they have always been very helpful when we have had any problems and I would say we only have a problem maybe once a year.

That's good to know--especially about the helpfulness part--'cause AT & T is not helpful AT ALL !
Xfinity/Comcast is the first one we were going to look into, but we had trouble finding how to get ahold of them both on line and in the phone book. Now that I think of it, Mom may have decided it was too expensive. I don't know--it's not entirely my desicion since it's for both of us and Mom's paying for it. ;P Right now both of our brains are too fried from this morning to think about it, but who knows. ;P

A huge chunk of what I do is online, too. :( Right now my brain is pretty fried from all of the "non-help" we got from AT & T on the phone this morning, so I'm thinking I'm going to be pretty worthless the rest of the day.

God has a plan in everything, though, so something good will come out of it.

Frustrating is exactly the word. :p Like Hev above, much of what I do is online (ie: Gather and ebay) so this throws up a bit of a roadblock for me. ;P I'm just grateful Mom will let me use her computer when she's not on it.

I didn't know AT&T did internet. I have comcast currently and haven't had too many problems with them. I've also heard that Century Link is really good.

Comcast--that's what Mom and I were thinking of first, but Mom wants to ask around some more.

We have Qwest/Century Link and really like it a LOT......have never had any problems, and so we have it "bundled" with our land line phone and several "extras," like call waiting, blocking #s, etc.........we get high speed Internet/DSL and have been quite happy with it.
So sorry to hear of all the headaches with AT&T........ I know several friends of ours had AT&T and got rid of it, as they had so many problems with getting computer help.
