New Hire Bonus

So my company sent me a mailer today saying if you get a friend to be hired on you get a bonus.  Well, my friend interviewed after this program supposedly began and was hired, so I'm going to try and get the bonus.

Question is...  do I keep it all for myself, or should I offer up some to the friend who was hired? 

It's not like I knew this was going to happen.  I didn't know I would get money for her being hired on.  Even though this supposedly started the first of this year, we were only told about it today.

I think it would depend on how much of a bonus you'd get......did anybody say what the amount would be? That would be great if you'd get one!

Wow, that's a LOT of money........and I'd have to agree with Joann.....a lot depends on how close you and she are......maybe $50 or $100???? Just a thought.

Go for it.

Whether you share depends on the kind of relationship you have with this person. If you're not especially close, you might consider her bonus the job she got.

yea, kinda sorta... but then that might make some wonder, did they really thing the job was a fit for me, or where they just trying to make money off me.

i'm sure she'll learn about it eventually since she will be working for the same co.... but i'm thinking a round of drinks or such. see, when other ppl have offered to get me a job places and i know they get a bonus for bringing ppl in, no one has ever offered anything to me... that's where i got stuck.

yea, i'm starting to lean towards a round of drinks or if she decides to go to dinner with some of us from work, pick up the price of her meal.
