One of the bits of wisdom you pick up as you get older is that “Never say “Never”” is the truest bit of advice you can share. To say:
“I would never…..” or
“I could never…..” or
“I have never…..” or
“Why, I never !”
is simply tempting fate in the worst possible way. How many times can you recall having said any of those lines, or used the word “never” only to find life had forced you to do what you said you never would? It is a gut wrenching realization and at its worst a horrible public humiliation.
Politicians are noted as one of the worst offenders. Parents also, especially new ones, are guilty of professing that they know what they would never do in certain situations. “Never” is a very dangerous word to use.
I would love to hear about any of your own mishaps surrounding the word “never”.

And now - never say 'forever'.
