Let
"Let" is one of the most often used words in my little universe, and it has a multitude of meanings.
Passive Aggressive Southern Belle Mother: I think I'm going to LET you mop the kitchen and empty the dishwasher.
Translation- "I need you to do these things for me, but I want to make it feel like a gift and fun task that you'll enjoy."
Slightly Confusing Advice Giving Father: Son, LET me give you a little lesson on how the world works.
Translation- "Son, I've been stuck at a desk all day every day for the last 30 years, and I can't say anything except yes sir and no sir all day, and I don't want your mother to hear me vent about things that get under my skin at work and home."
Nerdy Socially Awkward 20 Something Male: LET me worship you.
Translation- "Have sex with me?"
20 Something Female Who Has Been Raised On Bad TV: I wish you'd LET me get closer to you.
Translation- "I want to spend the night at your place and play house, but I do not want to have sex. You know like we've been married for a long time..."
