Summer Shower
like a welcome shower
your soul descends to bless
this thirsty earth I am
no part of me you do not touch
‘til I am damp with you
soaked to the skin
you possess me
seeping into every pore
wash me unbelievably
like a bath, you imbue
sweet fragrant clean
heart and soul
I dry you gone
but you’ll return, I know,
to love me again
with soothing, winsome wetness
