The challenge for Thursday August 9th is to create a post with the theme of missing the mark. Missing the mark is about missed opportunities. There will be those who might think that this challenge is a good one but for whatever reason will not post a response to it, then they will have missed the mark at least for this challenge.

Missing the Mark
"Call 911."
"Why?"
"I'm having a snake attack."
"Hang on. I'm putting you on speaker phone. Okay now what's up?"

"Me. There's some strange guy sitting in a yoga position. He's got a turban on his head and he's playing a flute. I can't do anything but sway my head and neck. I can't eat. Oh wait. There's a fly on his knee. I can't do anything but sway. I'm starving."

"Hang on buddy. I'll see what I can do. I just talked to them and they'll be with you shortly."
"Thanks buddy. They're here. Wait that's the SWAT team."
"What did you expect? Paramedics? If you can't hit the mark and eat that fly, then they can."
As this story unfolds, the SWAT team also missed the mark. The fly bit one of them and flew off to blissful happiness. One of the snakes lost a lot of weight and the other one. Well, let's just say that he hit the mark and is slightly overweight.

"One of the snakes lost a lot of weight and the other one. Well, let's just say that he hit the mark and is slightly overweight."
A comma may work better than a period:
"One of the snakes lost a lot of weight and the other one, well, let's just say that he hit the mark and is slightly overweight.
You won't believe what I found in our garage last night. Of course, I had to take a picture. It may be my next post.
