The No-Label Society

I posted a version of this years ago on MySpace, and giving the recent political clime, I felt it a good idea to revise it a bit and post it here..a good way to mark my permant return to Gather.

I like to confusing people.  They like putting their safe little labels on me, and I have so much fun proving the labels false.  Like so:

I do not believe the rich are inherently superior, therefore I am a Democrat.

I do not believe that throwing money at a problem is necessarily the best response, therefore I am a Republican.

I do not believe that completely stripping away faith from the public sector is a good thing, therefore I am a dangerous Conservative.

I do not believe that punishment and vitriol are the best way to deal with a problem, therefore I am a bleeding-heart Liberal.

I believe that the commands of Christ to feed the hungry and clothe the naked are of paramount importance, therefore I am a Religious Nutjob.

I believe in equality for all, therefore I am an anti-religious Fiend.

I believe that a woman is the equal of a man, therefore I am a Feminist Lackey.

I believe that a man is the equal of a woman, therefore I am a Chauvinist Pig.

I enjoy punk and metal, therefore I am Reliving My Misspent Youth.

I enjoy jazz and New Age, therefore I am an Old Fart.

I live in the South, therefore I an Redneck Hick.

I miss living in Chicago, therefore I am a Damn Yankee.

I am against war, therefor I am a Useless Peacenik.

I believe evil must be confronted, therefore I am a Bloodthirsty Hawk.

Don't label me.  Don't judge me by labels others arbitrarily place on me.  get to know me, and more importantly, get to know why I believe and act as I do.  God bless.
