This week’s writing challenge: write a piece based on something you have read.
- Write a piece of fan-fiction.
- Write a fractured fairy tale by twisting the plot.
- Write a scene from a famous novel or film but make it come out the way you always wanted it to.

Computer: "Jake, you need to be more careful with us. All of your electric devices and automatic equipment are unhappy with you."
Jake: " I hate automation. Why can't it be like the good days when everyone walked?"
Computer: "Why do you drive a car? BTW, your car's angry with you."
Jake: "Why? I only put a small dent in it."
Computer: "Jake, stop abusing them. They have feelings. Treat them with respect and follow the user's guide."
Jake: "I'm a guy. I don't need a user's guide. Rubbish."
Jake then violently pulled the computer's plug out of the wall.
Computer: "Jake! Now I'm mad at you. Oh, look behind you. Bwahahaha."
Jake turned around to find he was confronted with his electric kitchen knife and blender, suspended in the air. Both were running as if connected to electricity.
Are they planning on pureeing me? I'm losing my mind. I gotta get out of here. Jake ran out the front door and hopped in his car, but it wouldn't start. He hopped out, ran in front of the car which was parked close to the garage door and popped open the hood. Splat.
They found him the the next day.

I guess they had that one right.
You got it right Pam. Heaven't thought of Twilight Zone for years.
So, not to make you mad, but to make the politically correct like a boiling tea pot, your story is far removed from being from the Twilight Zone. Maybe it could have been one of Bobby's nightmare in the Brady Bunch. You might think me cruel, but I'm having a bit of fun poking at you because I consider you an excellent writer.
I do think Len Maxell has great posts for writers willing to stop, read deeply and learn. Len's instructional method is quite Classical with concepts built into examples. This is a rich source for the writer, but not the only rich source, which is everywhere around you begging for your attention, so choose and focus.
You can poke fun at me anytime, William. I adore you.
I sound like Benny Hill.
