What is your absolute, all-time favorite thriller? If you don't remember, what are some of your favorites? Or books that stand out to you? Okay the first thriller I ever read was Jaws by Peter Benchly. I was eleven and my best friend dared me to read it. It scared the living daylights out of me. In later years when I could handle it better I got into Stephen King thrillers. My favorite one of his is the Stand.
Have you read any books in this genre lately? Eleven by Carolyn Arnold it is an FBI thriller about tracking down a serial killer in Kentucky I really liked it.
What are the main characteristics of thrillers? To have a compelling story of a heinous event which will scare the crap out of the reader without being too graphic. It is high in suspense.
Who is your favorite author in this genre? Why? The king of the thriller Stephen King as he can take an ordinary situation like dog sitting(Cujo) and turn it into a scary event.

Do you think it was unwise of my parents to allow me to read so many adult books as a teenager? :-) If a kid can handle the subject matter in the book it should be okay.

What is the most difficult part of writing thrillers? I don't write them as I would scare myself and need intense psycotherapy.
