After honoring those who put their lives on the line to preserve our freedoms we have come back to the track meet. As we enter the venue the long jump competition has begun and we are drawn to it. We notice how much effort each athlete exerts in their competition. There is so much involved in this competition. There is the importance of getting off to a quick start, knowing when to make a stutter step prior to the jump, how to spring in to the jump and how to land forward. This event takes a great deal of practice and commitment and we draw so many parallels to our life experiences from it.
The Challenge for Thursday July 12, 2012 is to create a post with focus on "The Long Jumps In Our lives."
When an athlete makes a poor jump it is because of timing. A poor jump can happen if the athlete begins the run to soon, or too late, begins the jump too soon or too late. Bad landings can very much make a difference in how the jump turns out. If they lose their balance and land backwards it can make a good jump bad. Being too early or too late not only can lead to bad distances but can lead to jumps that are disqualified. Each athlete has two chances to run without jumping before they are disqualified. The worst mistake any long jumper can make is not to complete their jumps.
In life there are times when we must make long jumps. Sometimes the jumps are good sometimes they are bad. The worst mistake we can make is to not attempt a jump that we need to make. We all have so many moments in our lives when we needed or need to make long jumps. Those who accept this challenge should have a lot of experiences real or imagined from which to create your posts.

I look forward to reading the responses, Kevin. You make us contemplate our life - that's good.
You are very kind Barbary and i look forward to them as well. My prompts are based upon my own contemplation.
One reason for doing this is so others can read the posts submitted by others...otherwise, readership may diminish simply because no one knows where to find a particular post.
Just sayin'....
At present, I write SEO articles, and an occasional ebook. All are, if I may be so boastful - perfect. I have also rewritten things for others - perfectly. I am a perfect editor. Perfectly perfect.
