Reflections July 1st, 2012
“Believe!”
“If the Lord delights in us, then He will bring us into this land and give it to us, a land flowing with milk and honey. 9 Only do not rebel against the Lord, neither fear the people of the land, for they are bread for us. Their defense and the shadow [of protection] is removed from over them, but the Lord is with us. Fear them not.” Numbers 14:8-9 (AMP)
Scripture Reading For This Week: Numbers 13; 14; Joshua 2; 23; Matthew 6; Acts 2; Hebrews 11...
Someone is about to give up. Someone has already given up. God has a word for you this day: BELIEVE! Sure; some of you are saying easier said than done. But God says, if you put your trust in Him, He will ALWAYS lead you into the place of His promises concerning you. He doesn't have to lead you into victory, when He has already won the battle for you! Now, it's time for you to believe!
I declare and decree that this week'sReflections is a continued source of encouragement and food for your heart, mind, and soul. As you continue to seek the Lord, and fellowship with Him, your faith will increase, and you will believe—no matter what comes your way—the report of the Lord!
Easier said than done? It depends on how you are looking at it. Are you one that sees the glass as half empty, or one that sees it as half full? Do you believe what God has spoken, even in the midst of obstacles, tests, and frustrations? Or, is your faith contingent upon the current circumstances and situations in your life?
Wherever you may be on this spectrum; God wants you to believe. Believe with your whole heart, mind and soul. Believe what God has spoken to you. What He has promised. Believe the report of the Lord. The same report that says you are blessed and highly favored. The same report that says Jesus' blood and righteousness has saved you and made a way for you. The same report that says, by His stripes we are healed. The same report that says, we are the head and not the tail; the lenders and not the borrowers. Regardless of what the present circumstances want to dictate, or even what they look like...believe! Believe the report of the Lord.
I can so identify with Joshua and Caleb. After Moses sends out twelve to spy the land that God promised them; two came back ready to rumble and take what God had promised; while the other ten came with a negative report, saying it was hopeless because of who was in the land.
Numbers 13:25, 27-33 25 And they returned from searching of the land after forty days. 27 And they told him, and said, “We came unto the land whither thou sentest us, and surely it floweth with milk and honey; and this is the fruit of it. 28 Nevertheless the people are strong who dwell in the land, and the cities are walled and very great; and moreover we saw the children of Anak there. 30 And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, “Let us go up at once and possess it, for we are well able to overcome it.” 31 But the men who went up with him said, “We are not able to go up against the people, for they are stronger than we.” 32 And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, “The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof, and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature. 33 And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, who come of the giants. And we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.”
Why is It so easy for us to believe a negative report than a positive one? Why are we so afraid to stand on what we believe and what God has spoken, even when it is in the minority? When God says something—no matter how many say the opposite—His Word becomes the majority! Too often we allow ourselves to be persuaded and turned around by the negative reports of others.
We see the situations we are in, and soon forget the promises and the word that God has spoken concerning us. It is time to take our eyes of the giants in our lives, and put them back on God! It is time to slay those giants in our lives through the word of God and by trusting and believing in what God has spoken. He cannot lie!
I'm of the persuasion of Joshua and Caleb. (The only two of that generation who actually got to go into the promised land!) I will fight for what God has says. I will continue to believe, no matter what I'm faced with. Because I know, there is no “giant” that can beat my God!
Numbers 14:6-9 6 And Joshua the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, who were of those who searched the land, rent their clothes; 7 and they spoke unto all the company of the children of Israel, saying, “The land which we passed through to search it is an exceeding good land. 8 If the Lord delight in us, then He will bring us into this land and give it to us, a land which floweth with milk and honey. 9 Only rebel not ye against the Lord, neither fear ye the people of the land, for they are bread for us. Their defense has departed from them, and the Lord is with us. Fear them not.”
If you have been walking uprightly in the Lord. Obedient to His will and His word; then you have found favor in the eyes of God, and He will bring you into the land of His promises for your life. God will not keep you from what He has promised you. No matter who's occupying the land! God has already assured your victory through His Son. All you have to do is believe, and walk steadfast in His word and will for your life. There's not a giant in the land that is a match for our God!
I decree that the spirit of peace and prosperity is resting in your lives: spiritually, physically, emotionally, mentally, socially, and financially. Believe in the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, and soul. Stand on His promises. No matter how long you've waited, or have been waiting; keep believing and trusting God. He will never disappoint! Whose report will you believe? I am determined to believe the report of the Lord! You are Blessed. Now go...and Be a Blessing!

I think we are so used to asking for everything in prayer that we don't expect to get answered positively. Instead of celebrating the happy outcomes and blessings, we remember the times when we did not get our wishes. Doesn't matter that God is always right; it's our disappointment that we remember. We need faith to believe in God even when everything points elsewhere.
As with Joshua and Caleb, Believing the promise makes all the difference!
Thanks, Ruthe. God bless!
