Broken Heart
I muse of you
now and then
wonder how you are
still scarred -
or has life licked your wounds
I see your pictures
here and there
smiling wide
do you smile inside
or does old agony
yet rear its head
when finally,
you thought it gone
So good to see you write again
do you still wake in the night
your words awhirl
like honey they drip from my tongue
when I read aloud your pain
but not so loud others hear
perhaps we never really mend
there is no end
when we give our love
never returned
spurned
do we ever learn -
where is Love now
still cherished -
treasured in some heart
his special place -
or cast aside
without a trace
I know your heart -
all the Love you feel
was it real, your love –
or less than you imagined it to be
write – write – write
my bright-eyed dream
let your pain fly free - incredibly
your words enthrall
let your cathartic breeze please
touch all bereft
whom Love has left alone -
like me

Yes, Nicki, I was most kind.....I shared my cherries and pine nut hummus with her on the dock.
Let me know when you want to go walking. Toni and I went into Boston this afternoon, around Black Falcon Pier etc.
