This is a poem I wrote when my daughter was pregnant-we already knew it was a boy and his name. I want to have this published one day and Ike's dad Rob will do the artwork for it.
PICTURE THE BOOK –ONE LINE PER PAGE AND A PICTURE AN OPPOSITE PAGE
IKE THE TIKE AND HIS LITTLE RED TRIKE
(PICTURE)
IKE WAS A TIKE WHO LIKED TO GET AROUND.
HE LIKE BIG BRIGHT THINGS AND BIG LOUD SOUNDS
(PICTURE)
HE WANTED A TRIKE TO RIDE ALL DAY.
PLACES TO GO AND GAMES TO PLAY
(PICTURE)
SO HIS MOMMY AND DADDY THOUGHT THIS WAS OKAY
THEY BOUGHT HIM A HELMET
(PICTURE)
AND SHOES NAMED NIKE
TO MATCH HIS SHINY RED TRIKE.
(PICTURE)
HE WANTED FAST
BUT HIS PARENTS SAID SLOW
(PICTURE)
LITTLE IKE WANTED TO
GO GO GO!
(PICTURE)
UP SIDE WALKS, DOWN STAIRS
(PICTURE)
IKE HAD SCRATCHES ON KNEES IN PAIRS!
(PICTURE)
AT THE END OF THE DAY
WITH THE WIND THROUGH THE WILLOWS
(PICTURE)
IKE FELL ASLEEP
WHEN HIS HEAD HIT THE PILLOW.
