"Wildflowers from Winter" is one of those books that makes the reader feel like they are blessed with a good life, no matter what they are currently going through. It is so easy to feel connected to the characters on a personal level while reading 'Katie Ganshert' debut novel, “Wildflowers from Winterâ€. This book is so well written that the reader will feel the raw emotion of the female character as hope and love  springs forth from a life of guilt, mistrust, betrayal and pain. This powerful emotion is brought back to the surface of the characters mind and will be felt so strong, as if the reader was living them while the story unfolds. This is not a book that is predictable. Each chapter gives another clue to the personality and reason for acting or reacting as they do. It is like an emotional roller-coaster. There is death, birth and finding peace in an unexpected way in this novel.
Â
This is one of those novels that has a lesson hidden within the pages. Each reader will find a different gem as they read it.
Â
I found myself feeling like I was in the middle of the story, crying as one lost their husband, smiling as one gave birth, cheering the characters on at times while wanting to grab them and shake them at other times. This story could have been taken from the pages of someones journal. The emotion is so raw and forceful that I found myself crying while reading this book. There was not one boring page in it. The story is fast paced and pulled me in with the first page. I could not put this book down.
Â
I can't say I laughed out loud while reading this novel because I did not. It is a very serious story and I loved it. I loved the authors style and ability to give a vision of the characters and scenes.
Â
I give this book a 5 star and I think this author is on her way to the best seller list. I recommend it to anyone who is struggling in their life from any trial. It is amazing to see the characters grow in faith and find love and trust in a world that is often cruel and unforgiving.

Â
FROM THE BACK OF THE BOOK:
Â
Like the winter, grief has a season. Life returns with the Spring.
Â
A young architect at a prestigious Chicago firm, Bethany Quinn has built a life far removed from her trailer-park dwelling teen years – until n interruption from her estranged mother reveals that tragedy has struck in her hometown. A reluctant Bethany is called back to rural Iowa.
Â
Determined to pay her respects while avoiding any emotional entanglements, she vows not to stay long. The unexpected inheritance of five hundred acres of farm-land and a starling turn of events in Chicago forces Bethany to come up with a new plan.
Â
Handsome farmhand Evan Price has taken care of the Quinn farm for years. When Bethany is left the land, Evan must fight her decisions to realize his own dreams. But even as he disagrees with Bethany's vision, Evan feels drawn to her and the pain she keeps so carefully locked away.
Â
For Bethany, making peace with her past and the God of her childhood doesn't seem like the path to freedom. Is letting go the only way to to a new life, love, and a peace that she's not even sure exists?

This was a wonderful book. It is published as a Contemporary Christian Romance novel but the romance was slow coming. LOL It was a book about finding peace after a life of trials and betrayal. It was a real eye opener.
I think you would enjoy this book. I can see the tears falling down your cheeks while reading it though. :)
You changed your icon again on me! I just never know who you are anymore. I love this one as well. I think my favorite may have been the one supporting the troops though. :)
Yep, this was a good book and I enjoyed it but it is not your genre. :)
Thanks so much for taking the time to read and comment on my book review.
How is your husband doing?
I need this book, thanks Connie.
I think sometimes we all need to read a book like this but we just don't want to admit it. :)
Are you ok?
I am glad you enjoyed my book review. I really did enjoy this book. I read it in one day but it is not a "laugh out loud" book. It was very serious until the very end. I could not believe this was the authors first book!
:)
I highly recommend this book. It is wonderful but don't expect to laugh a lot.
With all the recent changes in your life, I think this book may find a place in your heart. I hope you will soon find the time to read it.

I do recommend this book. I too love to read in front of fire in winter but I enjoy reading on the front porch in the swing or by the river bank in summer.
Thanks for taking the time to read my review and comment. Have a wonderful night!
One whole chapter was a paragraph long. Then another chapter was the family talking around the table about nothing that made any sense. I hate do to book reviews on books I don't like.
You can look for it soon though.
Just kidding I do give honest reviews. I have to write up a review tomorrow on a book that I was not pleased with. The writing was not good at all. The story line was boring and I am going to rate it a 2 or 3 at best. The cover was pretty though. LOL
Really glad you enjoyed my review.
It is so sweet of you to come and comment on my review. I give honest reviews so you can tell what I really thought of your book. I loved it. Thanks so much for stopping by.
