I can be serious, (WWE, 6/13/12, serious challenge)

The challenge was:  Write something about 'serious'.

"Absolutely not, magic pen.  You've been getting all the glory and this time, I'm going to write a serious piece without your help."

"I can write serious - seriously.  Let me help.  Pleeeezzzzeee."

"No!" I said while getting his box out.

"No, no, not in there. No no, arghhh."  Slam.

Now I'll tell all of you Gatherites a serious story that comes from my conscious brain.

One upon a time I went to the store and bought onions, celery and a roast.  I put everything in a crock pot and ate it after it had cooked.  It was seriously good.

Shucks, that's the thing with writing isn't it..you think its bad and it turns out to be good..then you think its good and it turns out bad..hard decisions really..but don't be so tough on yourself you made your point and thats what counts :-)

Rutabagas are wonderful if you know how to cook them. Use a tad of sugar to cut the "bitter" and use bacon or ham for flavoring and use the smallest amount of water (cook on low heat and let the natural juices cook out and let the veggies cook down in its own juices). A little salt and pepper and you have a dish fit for Southern gods.

Rutabega is excellent plain with butter, I mash them sometimes with white potatoes, my family love them for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner. I always bring mashed rutabega, Brussels sprouts with mushrooms in garlic butter, and my own sweet potatoes because I can't eat them with all the sugary things added!!

I don't think this is, as you are saying, a "worst" story. In fact, I'm loving the idea of you continuing the theme of the magic pencil, with you and Pen interacting. (But, edit.-----ooops, I broke my word and said something about editing.)

Go ahead and edit. I've become lazy and just waiting for Len to publish his paperback book. The follow up to this is really bad - I woke up in the middle of the night and realized it. I've been preparing for a yard sale and stuff, so I didn't fix it. Bad Pam, bad Pam.

Okay, I have to eat some crow...um seagull? You CAN spell "SERIOUS". This was a cute story and a great meal you cooked. I need to borrow Magic a few days. I am inundated right now with family stuff and I see my "retirement freedom" flying away daily! Trying to get my gumption and courage up to write something more than poems and comments again.
