When I started to write my first book DEAD ON ARRIVAL, the characters started writing themselves. It seemed that Laura, Gerry and Gibbons were directing the dialogue and circumstances. I had ideas about what story I wanted to tell. Laura tells her back story of marital woe with the ex. I had no idea that Lou would end up gay after having come out on TV. I swear Laura told me he was so I had to believe her. The dialogue and the circumstances where their idea.
