Helios has finished his dayward journey across the sky
As night falls upon the Earth, the beautiful Selene appears
The moon goddess riding her silver chariot on high
She madly loved the handsome mortal, Endymion
Asking Zeus to put him into eternal slumber for her
And every night in her radiance she shown upon
Bathing in Oceania each night, she pledged her love
Selene and Endymion had fifty daughters called Menae
Each one presides over the lunar months above
The author/poet, Selene wraps her words in crystal light
Inspiring the beauty of the senses in her creative journey
And like, Endymion, we are enraptured by her insight

you take mythology and weave its brocade beautifully through the delicate lines of mature lullaby poetry~
