This weeks Wednesday challenge: Alice G. suggested one that I can have a lot of fun with. Write about dysfuntional family reunions or just dysfunctional families ourselves included, funny or not so funny.
The Rules:
Keep in mind, this is a monitored group and there are only a couple of rules, which are:
Make sure you put this (WWE, 5/30/12, df or dysfunctional families ) in your title.
Be sure to tag it with WWE, Gather Writing Essentials, disfunctional families. Post to Gather Writing Essential.
I ask that you make your submission(s) by next Tuesday afternoon.
There is a limit of three submissions from each member per day. If you’re extremely prolific, spread out your work and post only three submissions per day.
Most important:
Put this challenge statement at the beginning or end of your submission so readers will know what you’re supposed to do and won’t think you’re crazy.
Challenge:
Write in any form you desire about: dysfuntional family reunions or just dysfunctional families ourselves included, funny or not so funny.
And check out these responses from last week's challenge and if I missed some of you guys, it's because I just spent the last four hours overwriting my hard drive, again. I'll feature you next time. Hopefully, if I did miss you, you'll let me know. It was worth those four hours and the posts below will prove it.
Edgar, by Karen Vaughan
Capricornus, by John Beck
For Beth, by Deborah Anderson

Of course, some are more dysfunctional than others, with that in mind, I'll try to come up with a Schiller family story. :)
Thank you for sharing this with The Surreal Circus
If you meant a different on, could you let me know which one I missed. I really enjoy these responses.
Luck and the Lottery
I did get the wonderful opportunity of reading it today and it's fabulous. It will be featured next Wednesday. BTW, I wasn't expecting the ending to your piece. Mary's going to be needing another little lamb pet.
Bad computer, bad computer.
I guess we trade one evil for another. ;-)
Hope your computer is behaving herself, now!
dysfunctional like beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. :)
Good point, Connie!
That sounds great, Pam! What a great piece of nostalgia!
I once was fortunate enough to attend a big reunion where everyone there were triple cousins; three brothers fell in love with, & married three sisters[pure rural poetry & my idea of eye-candy]
I also, because of an interest in genealogy[genealogists love nothing better than spending a sunny afternoon in a cemetery with their chalk & trusty digi-cam], gave birth to the first-ever DeNise Family Reunion in OHIO[there are several others; Red Bank, NJ has one]; 50 'relatives' attended; came from all over the US, to Miamisburg, in the Spring of the year, when the weather is perfect in that part of OHIO; half a dozen close relatives who still live in the area, and were told about the upcoming event repeatedly, were no-shows; I was not surprised by any of this; I hve many cousins in the Atlanta area that I have never met; that's exactly what kind of bunch we DeNises are
I do think I'll try to avoid the funerals. Yeah, yeah, I was a no show.
I think this will be a fun prompt. It reminds me of the country song but I forget the name of it. LOL
