Sweet Silence
I am perplexed...
what words to say
to nail this feeling to the wall
do words suffice at all
to convey to our soul
adequate elegance
elusive gist
of exquisite pleasure felt
as your gaze washes o’er me
a summer rain
soaking me to the skin
your head on my shoulders
arms enfold as my own
the smell of your hair
the feel of your fabric
clinging to every hill and hollow
I follow, expecting to hear
“come back....”
“not too far...”
but your silence breathes
hot and soft on my shoulder
as you allow...
I feel your smile
wide as a mile
how alluring
when you whisper my name
knowing we shouldn’t
but we do, just the same
no one’s at fault
no one to blame
just you and me here
feeling the same
your face in my hands
your eyes fixed on mine
fingers tingling
your treasure to touch
wanting so much to possess
but here and now
in this moment of moments
in sweet silence
it is enough to hold
truth be told
may this feeling I prey
never grow old
