Trash – Part Three - Snow White (Thursday's Writing Esssntials, May 10, 2012)

Challenge:  Your challenge for Thursday is to create a post about someone who has encouraged or encourages you on your journey or journeys. Please focus on one person.

Snow White was mad at me for some time because I would climb over her fence and throw trash in her yard.  She built a glass roof over her property and the 7 dwarfs kept her lawn impeccable for 2 years.

Little did I know that my filthy, rich, lazy habits would change.  She took me on a journey that I did not wish to go.  She took me to the mines where her dwarf friends worked every  day.  I told her I wasn't well, but she gave me a pick and demanded I dig.  There was no choice.  I was in her spell.  Heck, she had kissed me.

She was the most important influence on the rest of my life.  She gave me guidance.  She gave me chores and I now take my trash to the dump, gull durnit.  Where's the Fabreeze?  Where's my maid?  She took my maid?

If you threw trash in my yard I would also send you to the mines. Bad Pam! I hope you remember that those little dwarfs worked in a diamond mine. I'm sure you could manage to pocket some of them without notice. Even diamond dust is used (think nail files). Uhhh, why is Snow White kissing you?

Nice story Pam. It sends my imagination in many directions.

This is creative writing at its best. I have no clue how you came up with that, but you did a great job.

The first episode was great and, as I said in my comment, I can see the inspiration. I remember reading the second one but didn't realize it was part of this series.

I have the first 2 weeks in June when my grandaughter is having uninterupted time at her mom's. I would love a girls' getaway or just a getaway period! My times is so regimented it leaves little for getting out of town and my sweetheart's life is even more consumed by outside demands. I would love to have a writers retreat and just get to see the people in person that I hang out with on here.

You are a computer geek, can't you figure out how to take care of business remotely with computers and fax etc? I know, about the dreaming part. That is about all I have been able to do for a getaway since moving to TX is dream about it.

Hmmm. Computer geek? In a way. I killed my laptop. A kind neighbor gave me an old one of hers. I got a virus on my old business computer which left me having to use 4 computers just to run my business. One of those were also given to me. I bought a new computer with Windows 7, had no time for the tutorials so wrote a rant which I'll not post to Gather.
Ran a full scan - lots of tracking cookies I didn't want there.

Ran a full scan on this computer last night. Two Trojans and they both had a small army of warriors. I think they were just waiting for a full battalion before the attack of the wooden horse.

Patti, Pam is absolutely right. Sometimes the humor is all that helps us keep our sanity. I do see that Patti is getting the hang of it too. Her posts are getting more humorous and she is able to laugh at stuff that might otherwise kill ya. I have a weird sense of humor that seems to come out in comments but not so much in posts. Let me say seriously, the two of you, and several other cool women friends have really filled a void in my life. Even with having the love of your life a woman still needs good spunky honest and caring girlfriends. The three I have loved the most over the years have all died 2 of them in their 50's and God knew I seriously needed replacements!

Alice, I understand that void. Now that I'm older, I understand the need to spend time with people that seek happiness, positive thinking and I try to give that back. Patricia has overcome a lot of traumatic moments that I'm not sure I could handle. She's an amazing person with a wonderful, uncompromising, caring attitude. (Patricia - I know you're listening - I'm not really talking behind your back.)

Alice and Pam, Thank you for your kind words and thoughts. I have been in the void and finally have girlfriends who are willing to pull me out of a bad mood and who make me come with them and listen to and laugh at the stories they tell. We leave our apartments and sit in the Community Room (or living room as my great grandson calls it!) Everybody tells funny stories and laughs and we feel 100% better when we go back to our apartments. Right now they are trying to figure out how to get the money I need for shocks and struts for my car. They do this for each other all the time!!
I am so glad I added you both to my friends list because you make me smile and laugh and I need that in my life.
