What a friend…Thursday's Writing Esssentials- May 10, 2012 ..for Kevin

I have made the journey into Hell, it lies within the mind

With me, a sword of light, not knowing what I would find

Not a place but the distance between me and the Creator

Evil does lurk inside us all and some we call the instigator

Ones that no not the Golden Rule, in blindness, act like fools

Using disharmony, lies, hate, murder and more as evil tools.

There is also a private Hell that some journey through

The mind is overcome with despair and depression, too

Mental illness is a demon that can take you to the pits

And eat away at your soul and tear you into bits

As some seem to have a meanness deep within

Where genes or environment, develop  a hateful  bend.

On my journey I have seen that I am filled with day and night

That there are both within/ without in this dualistic plight

The matrix was created for a purpose to choose a path of light

And after experiencing the dark, a friend gave me insight

I rarely broadcast or evangelize my gift the way the worldly do

‘Cause it’s a personal commune that lives, I found I always knew

My friend is always with me and never leaves my side

And like a friend, he has my back and in him, I can confide
