i listen to a lot of audio books, so i really can't tell you where this came from. it really struck a chord with me and i've been contemplating it a bit lately. suicide - people think that if they commit suicide it will stop the pain. it doesn't stop the pain. it just spreads it out. i think it came from "we are all welcome here", but don't quote me on that.

Second. There have been people, who have had "near-death experiences" from suicide attempts. They invariably report that they immediately knew it was a mistake, and the are not suicidal upon revival - and the depression seems to have lifted, as well. One example of a "near-death experience" occurred, in which the clinically dead person met a relative, who had committed suicide. That soul was beautiful, warm, and welcoming, but communicated that they would have to later "repeat the lesson" they had failed to learn, which had led to suicide. I'm not trying to make a metaphysical or religious statement of fact here. It's just what one NDEr reported.
