On a journey, like a trip, I focus on the scenery. I take lots of pictures and remember where I was when I took it. I pay attention to the music on the radio and the people I am with. I think about the bad hotel experience we had in Kingston-Super 8? Never again. I am usually traveling with my hubby and his mom. Sometimes we even have any one of our kids with us. The journey is about everything but me. I can escape the bounds of ordinary existence and concentrate on the extraordinary things that happen. The photo documentation and musical memories hold great importance. The food we ate on a certain trip, a new restaurant we tried. As bad as the motel was, the restaurant was twice as good. Eat at Aunt Lucy's! Journeys are meant for us to use our five senses and commit each of those to memory for recollection.
