I’m selling dictionaries door to door
With nothing but my sales case and my spiel,
A hundred possibilities in store
Behind a thousand doors, it makes me feel
Like Daniel, as my brain begins to reel.
A lady or a tiger would be great;
One chance in two is hardly a big deal.
Instead, a world of menaces awaits:
Rejection, shotguns, angry dogs and more--
That’s what I’m hiding out in the woods for.
