With the metals
they engraved some ferns on
the mothers pare the breads
and spread some blood jam
dug off the jars promising original synthetic fruits
in them.
The buses croon in.
They put new deer and rabbits curtains on their windows,
hiding the sharp clefts on those panes,
thus sparing the mothers from seven years cut,
though the boys remain susceptible to the tetanus.

We must watch the glints on those flowered metals,
hear the deer, rabbits and the world they represent.
Today marks the Earth Day.
Today the yoga signs flourish in our vegetable gardens.

A mother's heart cries in pride

In a few short million years, she shall lay down
new beds of coal and oil for the next industrial revolution,
while building species variety by good old-fashioned
survival of the fittest, fought with tooth and claw.
One day Archaeologists shall understand our plight:
"If they had instead celebrated Human Day instead of Earth
And tried to love each other, would they have seen the light?
