Chapter 5:
After a short hospital stay and full recovery, Professor Glaxba noticed the calendar and realized he had time to take a vacation. Actually, he needed time to formulate a reason that would not end in failure. The good professor thought of cities that would not be visitable by the end of this year.
The professor wrote out the cause of the coming disastrous war and oddly enough it was weather related. In a hush hush secret clandestine top security briefing, the discussion was how to use weather to destroy vital resources of the enemy. The Detroit metropolitan area was deemed ideal to use satellites to create an ionic web that could control how weather systems could affect Detroit with nice weather.
Beyond the scientists’ wildest dreams, this ionized web, wedge, etc., kept violent thunderstorms and snowstorms just miles north or south of the Detroit area. World scientists could see this decisive pattern on weather maps. Soon it was found out by accident on a radio program that this weather technology had been used to cause bad weather in another continent..
The professor knew the public totally unaware of this and that if he said this with no proof, he might be tried and put in an asylum. Professor Glaxba decided to do supportive research and release this information slowly to every possible blog or printed source. He daily and constantly saturated such sources with tiny bits of information that soon became widely believable.
Two months ahead of the future history schedule, Professor Glaxba had caused the government to acknowledge weather altering technology. This caused great mistrust by nations whom also were not trusted by many nations. Heated exchanges were bandied about in the United Nations, but nothing became of this because of an offer to share this technology to secure peace (and make money by selling installation service and monthly billed maintenance).
The result was like letting the Genie out of the bottle whom opens Pandora’s Box and tells all, ‘Space Weaponry is the future of offense and defense where an attack becomes a disadvantage.‘ The why of such logic debatable and with growing tensions, including the why of one country hypocritically preaching of freedom. Having 25% of the world’s prison population, a sense of mistrust was poisoning many relationships with extremely good reason. Deceit, disgrace and dishonor and the soon firing of the space weapons and time was becoming problem one genuine.

Thank you.
Thanks for taking the SatWE challenge.
When my teenage friends and I would travel to Detroit or Ann Arbor, we would joke that snow never stuck in metro Detroit because a constant heat bubble had been installed in the city (much like a city wide force field.) Later on during my architectural studies I found the reason for this to be the massive amounts of concrete that are used in such areas. They absorb heat and then release it slowly when the air around them cools.
This lesson in thermal dynamics has been brought to you by the BTU.
Sounds like the good doctor might use the time machine, to avoid the dogs of war.
I think you are right about the concrete. I guess I should take off my flannell shirt because I'm simply hot when wearing it.
