The Ocean – A Ghazal for Mindful Poetry Contest: April 13, 2012

Â
Ocean waves rolling blue from the darkness deep
Your blue eyes in mine, your clear gaze so deep
Â
Billions of ocean creatures have been dancing for eons
Practising the intricate evolutionary steps in the deep
Â
Fishermen cast their nets in the dark night full of hope
Abundant catch is the promise from the deep
Â
A surfer’s body lying on the warm sandy beach
Rescued, a wound in the leg, bleeding, gaping deep
Â
Come with me for a dive, down to the wonderland
The mighty ocean I leave to you, I don’t trust the deep.
