Chapter 2:
After exiting the time machine, Dr. Glaxba quickly realized the city an illusion with real parts carefully hidden. Ann said, ‘when the blue stone on my wristband brightens, an open door will appear giving us 20 seconds to get there.’ Dr. Glaxba asked, ’What if I stop to take a breather and it takes longer 20 seconds?’
When shocked, Ann would look in the mirror, check her mascara and admire her hair and usually nonchalantly say, ‘Next question.’ However, being of high intelligence; her first conclusion outfit a disguise, Ann realized this time traveler knew not the history of Cyber and Space weapons, which caused World War 111 in his lifetime.
‘Excellent question,‘ Ann said with wink and smile, then continued, ‘You’d never get to know me better, if that happened.‘ Dr. Glaxba gulped, but with scientific curiosity asked, ‘Do you know anyone who did not make it?‘ Ann took out her lace hanky, dabbed her eye and said, ‘Yes, my fiancée Charles from the year 3033 had leg cramps. I was faster than him and did not realize he was in pain and crawling. The Square Waves got him.‘
The blue stone on Ann’s wrist started glowing. Soon an open door 50 meters away appeared. Ann grabbed Dr. Glaxba’s hand and they both ran for it and made it inside with 3 seconds to spare. Dr. Glaxba looked around and then realized he was in a library, when Head Arbiter Librarian Tracy demanded to see his library card.
Ann soon realized she had had a lapse of etiquette and said while bowing, ‘this man is a time traveler visitor from 2012 in need of a library card and a surgical implant of historical educational data.’ Ann had her right hand outstretched holding her library card for Tracy to eye.’ Everything seemed fine, but Dr. Glaxba was a bit unsure about the surgical implant.
‘Perception of Acceptance Filter (PAF) was added in surgery to help you deal with the imagery and massive loss of life.’ Tracy paused to see Dr. Glaxba’s reaction and there was none, which she felt a good sign. She continued, you have only 22 minutes before you must return to your ship. For this reason I have given you data about your era’s space weapons and the types of evil that changed our planet.
Slide after slide Dr. Glaxba viewed and then read the specifics of how this new Space warfare could destroy a single man or a whole large city. The detail and analysis sheet said these weapons developmental and not tested. Written in the liner notes: December 2012, enemy has same weapon and has used: ’Snow cannot fall on lifeless Boston anymore.’
