Wednesday Writing Essential prompt: write about birds.
CROWS
....judge NOT
except the birds
did not hear
or heed the word
for they don robes
of black
sauntering forth
ne'er looking back
they caw each flaw
in lifes' condition
I hear eery sound
before the sight
of flocks of black
in soaring flight
and when they land
they bow their heads
and judge the world
in which they live
its hinted
they are messengers
come to give
of what they know
and what is that
I've seen our flock
have heard them talk
they live amidst the trees
shoot the breeze
in the cemetery
1812, St. Peter & Paul
the crows
saunter
from my yard
to the graves next door
I wonder if maybe
one
knew Poe
never know
I do know
in spring they dance
I saw them on the branch
the crows called HIM
were cawing as they
dipped up and down
teasing the females
hanging round
and the girl crows
just seemed to quietly watch
reaction
not much
but what do I know
I just know
they all come back
usually numbering seven
their group hasn't grown
maybe the old crows
are too old
maybe the females
have flown
the coop
(the nest)
maybe thats why
maybe....
