THE BRAT - THE BEGINNING
Part 9: THE FIREPLACE MEETING
Just what are we to do with this girl?
The day after the storm she began her first book.
At ten! With snarl being combed from her hair. A book?
Just what are we to do with this girl?
The day after the storm she began her first book.
With half the forest down. Part over our powerlines.
How does she slip past her dogs? Every time.
The day after the storm? She begins her first book?
With miles of forest across our downed powerlines.
This ten year-old Brat spent the night out there?
"What are we to do? Men, tonight I swear.
"With miles of pines across our downed powerlines.
"This ten year-old Brat spent last night out there?"
"Beyond us. Beyond the dogs. In that hellish storm.
"Tonight we hold this meeting. This can't be the norm.
"This ten year-old Brat spent last night out there."
"Beyond us. Beyond her dogs. Within that storm.
"Gather up, men. By the fireplace light in the den.
"Get a cup of coffee, we have a problem. Again.
"Beyond us. Beyond her dogs. 'Chalice' in the storm.
"Gather up, men. By the fireplace light in the den."
Then we freeze, as the two hounds and Brat appear.
She moves with bashfulness. But, full of cheer.
"Gather up, men! To the fireplace light in the den."
Yes, 33 warriors freeze as the hounds and Brat appear.
We all stop. She smirks, moving past.
And into the kitchen to pour our coffee. Moving past.
Yes, all 33 of us froze as the hounds and Brat appeared.
We all are stopped while she smirks, moving past.
"I was with God last night", said she with care.
Her eyes dropping beneith our dumb stares.
We all just stop. While she smirks, moving past.
"I was with God all night," said she, with care,
The smell of boiling coffee filling the room.
Both dogs are now laying sheepishly across the room.
"I was with God last night," she said again with care.
The smell of coffee filling the room,
"And I was running through the tops of the pines."
She definitely had our interest now. "The pines?"
The smell of coffee filling the room.
"And I was running through the tops of the pines."
Lifting her chin, "I asked Him and He stopped the wind."
"I am sorry," exploring our eyes, "worrying you was sin."
"But I was running through the tops of the pines."
Lifting her chin, "I asked God, and He stopped the wind."
"Would you all pray for me tonight?"
Then she plopped herself down. Almost lady like.
Lifting her chin, "I asked God, and He stopped the wind."
Just what are we to do with this girl?
The day after the storm she began her first book.
At ten! With that storm still snarled in her hair. A book?
Just what are we to do with this girl?

The girl "Brat" (my rendition of one of the Two Witnesses) engages in those last day a very victorious (no losses) 3 1/2 year running war with the whole world-wide kingdom of Satan. But the two are finally murdered. A miscalculation of Satan...as he had made the mistake of killing Jesus.
with such precison, while spinning out this wonderful story-poem.
