Her name was Virginia Ketch
No one liked her much in grade school
She was poor and that wasn’t cool
Her name was Virginia Ketch
No one liked her much in grade school
It’s easy to ignore the dirt
Just assume no one will get hurt
No one liked her much in grade school
It’s easy to ignore the dirt
When you’re panning for gold
Brush away the mold
It’s easy to ignore the dirt
When you’re panning for gold
Everything that glitters catches
A devious plan soon hatches
When you’re panning for gold
Everything that glitters catches
Ginny wanted some gold of her own
Just to sit on a respectable throne
Everything that glitters catches
Ginny wanted some gold of her own
So she did what any poor girl does
Imperious neighbors said, “Remember when she was…”
Ginny wanted some gold of her own
So she did what any poor girl does
Her name was Virginia Ketch
Like a dog, she would fetch
So she did what any poor girl does

Thanks for sharing with Triple Name Club.
The last stanza captures the moment very well, indeed.
This was very well done. The form is obviously very demanding and poses the danger of becoming too obtrusive, so that the reader is distracted from the content, but somehow you've managed to use it to advantage. Thus, the poor girl is trapped in a complex, repetitive web of toxic social entanglements.
Oh, I finally figured out that it was a great story.
I need to work on it more...
