Dumbfounded / FWE or Friday Writing Essential,...

It seems that most folks are content to play by the rules. Every now and again we find someone who choses to go overboard. It's not my cup of tea to break such a rule as did this gal one day.

Picture a stadium full of baseball fans and picture also a ladies' room backed up for a quarter mile. I'm exaggerating of course, but you get the idea, I hope. At least a couple dozen ladies are all jammed in a line to be able to use the barthroom designated for them. The men don't have the same problem, since they can all stand and use the same long facility to complete their rituals. The men's room seems always ready to accomodate more men and never runs out of space for them to relieve themslves.

A very special lady was not going to let a small group of men stand in her way as she proudly walked into the little boys' room and grabbed the first empty stall; worked for her, I guess. LOL You can imagine the look of surprise on every face in that john. A few were snickering, but most went about their business like nothing had ocurred out of the normal.

It's the old story: When ya gotta go, ya gotta go. This happened at a ballpark a few years back in Jamestown, NY.

Hats off to the little lady for not letting her personal needs take a back seat to convention would have done the same in her spot.

I would have done that if the need arose but I would have been very businesslike about it. No sight seeing, just grab a stall and use it then get out!

That incident received national attention. It was before the popularity of "unisex" rest rooms and changing tables in mens' rooms. It was both gutsy and resourceful on her part.
In high school, girls went to the girls' room in flocks, never solo.

Oh, boy! We had an exchange student once, from Germany, who didn't see anything wrong with using the boy's bathroom all the time. It really annoyed students at the high school! She kept it up for a couple of months until staff asked her to stop.

I loved what you came up with - it flowed very well and was humorous!
