What words shall I choose

To enliven and move hearts?

As you contemplate my one hundred,

Will you feel sorry for me

If I disclose to you

The number of times I counted words?

Twenty.

Does this number dissuade you

From undertaking

Such absurdist endeavor?

Or rather, lull you into

The false belief of ease?

And having decided one way

Or the other,

Do these words serve

To entertain for a moment

Or perhaps, move you to pity?

No pity from me, since I pretty much did the same thing (thank heavens for MS Word 'properties' that does the counting for me). You definitely entertained me with this well written response. Thanks.

I see you're new to Gather. Welcome. I hope you enjoy it here, and can be patient with Gather's "quirks" (and that is being kind). ;^)

Nope. Sorry, I can't. We seem to have a lot in common. I do not ever want to give up my computer, but when I write, I still prefer to do mine pen to paper. Get a draft or 2 done and then I'll start refining on MS Word. There is something magic with pen and paper, and my thoughts flow easier.
