I'm so tired of politics
And the economy;
My fingers are too tired
To press a typewriter key;
Somehow I managed
To overcome my fatigue
And write a poem
Without intrigue;
If this poem is boring,
I apologize;
I'm sorry if it is not witty;
I'm sorry if it is not wise;
I'm just so tired!
I can barely think;
My imagination is napping,
So this poem might stink;
I just thought of a plan,
A half-baked scheme;
I could fall asleep
Then write about my dream,
But I'm too tired,
Too tired to sleep;
It takes energy to dream
It's so sad I should weep,
But I'm too tired;
Tears strain my eyes;
My energy is low--
Will it ever rise?
I can't continue;
I'm so diminished;
Before I began this poem
I was already finished.

You can better make the point by shortening the poem:
If this poem is boring,
I apologize;
I'm sorry if it is not witty;
I'm sorry if it is not wise;
I'm just so tired!
I can barely think;
My imagination is napping,
So this poem might stink;
I can't continue;
I'm so diminished;
Before I began this poem
I was already finished.
Perhaps the last stanza could also be shortened:
I can't continue;
I'm diminished;
Before I began
this poem was finished.
"I was already finished."
I know exactly how you feel ...
(yawn)...zzzzzzzzzzz!
If you were to actually wish for a title, I could give you one.
One so simple, you wouldn't think of it in a million years.
"Tired"
:)
