Reflections August 7th, 2011
“Repent and be Healed”
“When I shut up heaven and there is no rain, or command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence among My people, if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to prayer made in this place." 2 Chronicles 7:13-15
Scripture Reading For This Week: Numbers 23:18-20; 1 Kings 8:46-48; 2 Chronicles 33:9-11; Jeremiah 3:6; Mark 1; Luke 11,13; Acts 11; Revelation 3...
I don't have to tell you. You already know. God says you know. Even a person with no sight or hearing knows. You can feel it in your spirit. You can feel it in your soul. It's in the atmosphere. It's all around us. Even unbelievers know it. God is soon to come. The sign of the times are all around us.
In my quiet times and reflections with the Lord, we get down to business. I've come to the realization that I no longer have time for the wimpy questions and complaints. It's time to check my armor and make sure there are no dings, nicks, and holes in it. I must be certain that my heart is pure and my hands clean, and that everyday I have repented. For I know, that healing to our lives, our families, our nation lies within our repentance.
It is my sincerest prayer that this week's Reflections will be a source of encouragement and enlightenment for your heart and soul. I pray that the the word of God will flood your heart and soul, and that you will come to a heart of repentance and receive all that God has ordained for you.
My goodness, there is so much going on around us; in our own homes, in our schools, in our churches, in our places of business, in our nation, that it seems that we are overwhelmed with a barrage of negativity and chaos. Yet, there is a solution to the things that we are facing: Repentance.
I've been studying and reading about healing. I've been seeking out the why and how of healing, in terms of how some get healed and others still seem to remain locked in their conditions, suffering. There are different levels and degrees to understanding, and if you truly want to understand , you must search the scriptures and seek the Lord for yourself, so that you may gain an understanding for you that comes straight from God to your heart.
However, I will share this one thing with you that God has made abundantly clear to me: repentance. Repentance is key to healing. Repentance is key to the anointing of God flowing in your life. Repentance is key to turning things around in our homes, our schools, our churches, our nation. There is no way around it.
Let's face it, friends: we are in need of some serious healing in this nation. Oh, I'm going to get to the personal stuff. But I want to touch base on the healing of a nation. It is clearly evident that this nation is suffering. That it stands in the need of a great repentance.
I try to refrain from any political discussions within Reflections, unless God gives me a word to share. And when He does, I do. Whether we see eye to eye or not. Whether we share the same viewpoints or not, really is of no concern to me. What does concern me is the condition of your heart, and the words that have been spewed out of the many hearts of those who call themselves believers.
I have never, in my life, seen so much disrespect, hate, racism, division and utter disregard for the office of the President as I have in the past three years. It is deplorable. And I am not referring to unbelievers. I am referring to those of us who call themselves children of God. The hate, the derogatory words, the disrespect is...disgusting, deplorable and unacceptable. It is one thing to disagree with the actions of the President and not like the choices that he may or may not have made. But it is a whole other thing, as believers in the Body of Christ, to allow yourself to cross that line of disrespect, and still believe that God is going to bless you and bring healing to your home, your family, your church, your nation.
We hold up our own blessings with the words that come from our mouths. It is evident that the true intents of some people's heart have been revealed. That which was hidden is now revealed. But God has allowed it. He has allowed it to show us what is truly in our heart and who is truly living the word of God and who is not.
As children of God, we have a responsibility to do as God has called us to do. We have the responsibility of being the example, the salt, the light of the world. The most powerful thing we can do as Christians is pray. But we have not been praying. We have been accusing, name calling, and spewing hate. And in the same breath, with the same tongue, we lift praises to God and expect Him to bless us, and bring healing to our lives. Not going to happen.
I'm saying we, and not just you, because we are suppose to be one in the body. It says that we should rejoice with one another, and mourn with one another. When one part of the body is affected, we are all affected. When one is hurting, we all are hurting because God does not separate us.
WE must come together and repent for the words that have come from our hearts and mouths. We must repent for the hatred and the vileness that we have allowed to consume us. And the fear. Yes, fear. When we come into the presence of God, there is a certain posture we must come in. But we have missed it of late. And have given room to the enemy to get in and wreak utter havoc in our lives and nation.
“If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” 2 Chronicles7:14
It's time for us to repent. It is time for us to seek God and His will, and begin to act accordingly. Some of us have been suffering in such terrible ways, and the Father says that we must repent.
When we repent, we release the favor of God upon our lives. We release healing. Physically, emotionally, mentally, even financially. When we repent, the Blood of Jesus brings us into a place of divine healing.
Did you know that unforgiveness can make you sick? Did you know that holding onto bitterness and hate and anger can cause you to be physically ill? It is amazing what our bodies hold onto. We know that stress can kill. It is a disease. But as children of God, we have been given a pass. We have been given the keys to wholeness and healing. It's through our repentance and the covering of Jesus' blood.
Repentance brings us to a place of covering in the Lord. And it is the key to us being made whole and receiving the healing that we seek and desire. The word of God clearly states that by His stripes we are already healed. Christ already made a way for our healing. It is us, who often stand in the way of our healing manifesting.
We hold onto so many things in our life that God has long told us to let go of. Sin is death. Sin brings sickness and disease. Sin causes us to miss the mark. Sin opens the door to the enemy to come in our lives and wreak monumental havoc. The wages of sin certainly is death.
Don't you want to live? Don't you want to be healed? Don't you want those around you to be healed? Don't you want your family to be made whole? Don't you want this nation to be healed? Or, are you too selfish and stuck in your own ways to see and receive what God has made available to you and those around you today?
Listen; you call yourself a believer. A believer of who? A follower of who? God is calling us to a higher standard. He is calling us to a heart of repentance, that we may live the life that He has ordained for us before the beginning of time. We may be the only Jesus that people see. And what are we saying to them? What are our actions and words saying about the God we serve?
I don't want to be proclaiming that my God is a healer and deliverer, and never experience it for myself. I don't want to be just a speaker and hearer of the word, but never a doer. I don't want to profess that I love the Lord and serve Him with all my heart, and all that people see is someone crippled and sick with hate and venom and unkind words, living a miserable life.
My God, forgive me of my sins! Cleanse me from all unrighteousness. I openly repent of my sins. I openly repent of all things that would separate me from the love and healing from God. If I offended anyone, I repent. If I have been a poor example of Christ, I repent. If I have spoken out of anger and in the flesh without love or mercy, I repent. I plead the Blood of Jesus over my life. Over my mind. Over my family, friends, acquaintances. I plead the Blood of Jesus over this nation. I plead the Blood of Jesus over the President and the Whitehouse. I plead the Blood of Jesus over every leader in this nation. Every church leader; every political leader, every family leader. I plead the Blood of Jesus over every person that reads this Reflection; over them and their families. And I thank You for their healing in every area of their lives, in Jesus' name. Amen.
May the spirit of peace and of prosperity find rest in every area of your life: spiritually, physically, emotionally, mentally, socially, and financially. I pray that your hearts are filled with repentance today. That you would not hold back from God, but give all of you, so that you may receive all that He has ordained for you. You are blessed. Now go..and Be a Blessing!
