I am speechless. I am stunned. I am smiling with humble, amazed spirit. What a masterpiece.
Oh, scoots, I'm sounding over the top, but I know, intimately, the pain of concrete poetry, the brainfry of abecedarians, and the earnestness of ekphrastic poems. Did I miss any aspect?

Atticus, this took me far to long to award. It wasn't a difficult choice, your poem here absolutely runs away with this, but I've been running around myself, too busy to take care of my tasks.

Anyone who hasn't tried a concrete poem might not realize the insanity of it. And this particular poem is a THREE-way poem.

I know the feeling Susan. I have been that way myself for quite a while.

But you must know how truly honored I am by your choice of "Basic" for P-O-W., there were so many fine poems by such wonderful poets submitted last week. It is a unique privilege to write alongside the members of this group, especially you, Susan.

The contest was (once again) a smashing success and I loved participating in it!

It was a wonderful contest and I say that without credit to myself. The caliber of the submissions, the encouragement from the participants to one another as well as readers comments who weren't writing, and the efforts overall of the participants to play along fairly were enlivening.
