Earlier this year the renowned critic wrote a blog on the lack of artistic merit in video games, which was widely read and commented on. Currently 4,573 comments have joined that discussion on video games and art. Today Ebert wrote a follow up to that blog and admitted he may have been wrong in his assumption that video games are not possibly art.
Ebert admits that has not played many video games and therefore should not have rendered an opinion on them. Â Ebert as always writes eloquently on the subject and while not agreeing that that video games are art he does not dismiss them either. My personal opinion on the subject is video games are art and I feel the sentiment is moving in that direction.
The New York Times earlier gave a rave review to the game Red Dead Redemption, and called it a work of art. This review opened my eyes to a game that I was not sure about buying, and now I plan to get it in the near future. What do you think, can games be art or are they just entertainment?

I thought the games had been considered as having artistic value for a long time.
The qualityof the images and storyline of the games were always important to the success.
To me even it would be the creativity of the programming, as art.
There is code, that is technical precise, perfect
and there is elegant code.
This is art, still techinical, precise and perfect, but more.
