The Minneapolis Book Fair

On Saturday, October 10th, Rain Taxi, a nationally known book review magazine, is once again hosting the Minneapolis Book Fair. This year I will be one of the authors sitting behind a table and pimping my book. If you're from the twin cities area, or want to drive or fly in (I hear the airlines have excellent rates ; )), please stop by and say hello. I'd love to meet some of the faces behind the icons.

The festival runs from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. It's located on the first floor of the Technical Building on the Minneapolis Community and Technical College, at 1501 Hennepin Avenue.

There will be a lot of great authors to chat with and mighty fine books to take home.

I love book fairs, but it is a whole new ballgame when you are behind the table.

I'm sure it will be fine, I just don't like people that much, I'd rather be at home in my safe nest writing. I think, for me one of the reasons I have been dragging my feet on getting things out to the publisher is the promotion. I live in redneck heaven and I'd have to travel to places like Peoria to promote. Peoria scares me =O

never been to peoria, but for anywhere - promotion is nasty for loners like us. i'm thinking of becoming Thing from the addams family - hide in a big box and reach my hand out for money, then reach out again and give them my book.

Peoria is a dirty Chicago, it's slogan is: "It's better here". SO inappropriate!

The thing idea could work for you as you are a horror/suspense writer, or have Selene prance around in a cat suit =)

lynn - if i sang in public, people would definitely stare. i find that cranking up the ipod shuts out the rest of the world - and that suits me just fine. ; )
