As the sun sets majestically

Such a beautiful sight to behold

I continue to stare in awed wonder

As the night has begun to unfold

 

Though I am the Lady Moon

The sun holds no fear to me

For my light, which makes lover's swoon

Is but a reflection that you can see

 

The light of the sun was created

By God for all to enjoy

And the moon just serves to remind us

That the light shines from all He employs

 

So even at your darkest hours

This Lady is pleased to be

The reflection of God's wonder and promise

That was made for you and me.

Lovely. And on those nights when the dark portion of the moon is visible, called earthshine, the moon is getting some of it's light from the sun and reflected from Earth, adding to the metaphor. Thank you for this lovely verse, Lisa.
