If you are promoting a book, you need to read this.

Here is an idea to boost everyone's sales. A contest in which everyone who purchases a participating author book is entered into a contest to win a stack of books.


Bookpile Contest

1)   A group of authors who can keep track of their sales (who purchased your book during a specific time frame) gets together and each sends one copy of his/her book to the contest administrator.

2)   The contest administrator then packs all of the books for shipping and finds out a shipping cost.

3)   The contest administrator then divides the shipping cost by the number of authors participating and sends an E-mail to each author letting them know what their share of the shipping cost will be.

4)   All authors send that amount to the contest administrator so that he can ship the package to the winner.

5)   The contest can then begin. Authors begin promoting their books with the added incentive that if you buy a copy of their book, you get an approximate 1 in 50 chance to win a pile of x amount of books (depends on the number of participants).

6)   When a predetermined number of books (say 50) have been sold by all authors combined, the contest ends and all authors send the names of people who purchased their books during the contest.

7) The contest administrator takes all of the names, puts them in a hat and draws one name. That person wins the stack of books and the contest administrator ships the package of books to them.
