I stole the first two lines of these from poddar kushal's "What are you doing this summer ( wednesday essential )":
Prom Night
Every thing is now
transitory, a smear of beings
on the bend
Ever wonder how
on rubber and asphalt, fleeing
flashing lights will end?
First Semester
Every thing is now transitory,
a smear of beings on the bend
waving good-bye, shrinking
on the horizon. This, too, must end.
Eyes on the white line,
her heart's still at the dinner table.
Her future lies ahead; it's fine -
her mind's a thousand miles away.
Girl: In leaving, she rejects the label
in favor of a woman's wings.
But home is never far behind her;
home is where her spirit sings.
