Trip to England - 1

My husband and I met at college in Cambridge, England. Recently we went back there for a visit, so I thought you might like to see some pictures.

Here's some fine old English architecture - King's college from the backs -

some middle-aged architecture - Newnham college -

and some new - the math department.

Here's a narrow Cambridge street

and another narrow street in the village of Grantchester.

We walked by the riverbank back from Grantchester

and took a punt on the river the next day - upper river, away from the colleges.

And here's the beautiful Cambridge house where our friends made us so welcome.

Lovely pictures. I lived in England (UK) for a couple of years back in the 70's and have been to Cambridge many times, living fairly close. It certainly is beautiful country, and I would love to go back to visit someday.

Beautiful photo essay Sheila, England fascinated my daughter and she always wanted to go there but didn't make it, it certainlly looks beautiful in these pictures. The narrow streets as you call them look more like pathways. Do cars fit on them? Or mostly bikes I would think.

Wonderful photo essay Sheila. I've been to Cambridge! The place was awesome, what I remember the most was the angelic sound of the choir singing and the Mathematical Bridge.

Beautiful pictures. The very first time I went to England, my kids and I stayed in Cambridge in a B and B very near the train station. It was quite the adventure as my kids were only 14, 10 and 4. We got Eurail passes and travelled on the continent and got robbed in Amsterdam.
