Forgotten
Waiting
By the window
When will you come to me?
A lone wolf crouches in pity,
Lingers.
Hungry
By the wood pile;
Doomed heart beats fitfully.
Like me, it feels abandoned, lost,
Unfed.
Leaden
Willow branches
Creak under white powder.
Water drips from the eaves, rhythmic,
Heavy.
Silent
Cardinals clutch
Fraying twigs wishing wolf
Would turn its head so they could land
Quiet.
Sorrow
Nips at us four
Who seek comfort, relief.
I wonder if you feel me here,
Weeping.
